week 1 2017 term 1

Welcome to room 15 2017

this blog will connect parents/ grandparents and caregivers to the children in room 15.

Here you will find photos and examples of work created and works in progress as we progress through each week in 2017.

You are able to comment at any time and the children will enjoy seeing these. The blog is a safe area for the children to catch up on at home. There are pages at the top of the blog that will take children to different parts of the blog for learning purposes and enjoyment.

Dear Parents and Caregivers
In Year 0  1and 2  we have been following the ‘Amelia the Ant’ handwriting program. A story with shapes which make up all of the letters of the alphabet. The story and shapes are as follows:
C
l

ן

      十
open mouth
tall stick
short stick
hanging stick

r

tunnel
half tunnel
cup
bar

     ∕            \

f
J
S
slope
handle
hook
snake

X..................................................................................................................................................

X...................................................................................................................................................

.
Amelia the Ant goes out walking every day. She starts on the X and she only walks towards the sun. She NEVER walks backwards, so when she gets to the end of the line, she chews a hole in the page and goes around the back to the next line where she continues walking.

Please feel free to practise the shapes at home with the correct pencil grip. Help your children by using the language of Amelia the Ant and encouraging them to use the language too.
