 Kia ora whānau
On the 8th November the whole school will be walking up to Whakarongatai Marae to commemorate Parihaka. We will be welcomed onto the marae by the tangata whenua, followed by a couple of speakers and then morning tea (children will take their morning tea).

We are planning on leaving at 9.30am from school, with powhiri starting at 10am. We will leave the marae at about 11.15am to return to school.

You are very welcome to join us.

If you do want to join us and would like to walk down with the children - meet in your child’s class at 9.15am.

All children will need to be wearing their hats (sunscreen applied in the morning is a good idea too) and if girls have a skirt that would be great to wear (but don’t go out and buy one).

Could you please indicate whether you will be joining us for catering purposes.
